(San Francisco, California –July 14, 2012) Top Magician, Paul Nathan (Dark Kabaret, Devil in the Deck, Star Trek Voyager) is packing his bags for Edinburgh to headline a month of good, clean, child-hating fun. Also returning to the show is guitarist, John Anaya (Wasting the Spark, Cabaret Politico). John’s new album, Songs That Make Kids Cry is scheduled for release during the festival.
The award winning magic and music show moves to the Pleasance Kids Zone. This is the third year at the Festival but producers promise new magic, music, and fun. Popular parts of the show won’t change. Every child still gets to help out on stage. Pictures of guests doing the magic are posted on the show’s website, www.ihatechildren.com where you can see photos from past year’s young guest stars. Expect the same cruel banter and child hating wonderfulness that’s made the show a hit with kids and adults.
The I Hate Children Children’s Show is not for kids. It’s a show for families to see together. The show is fast paced and funny enough to keep children excited and adults engaged. The magic is simple enough for kids but interesting for everyone. While the music is not what you would expect at a children’s show, the blues and rock based tunes drive the show while engaging youngsters and grandparents alike.
“John and I are excited to be back” Says the show’s star, Paul Nathan “We never expected to love this show as much as we do but it’s become an a fun way to start our days at the Edinburgh Festival”.
Paul Nathan is widely regarded as one of the most original and interesting magician’s working today. His shows Devil in the Deck and Dark Kabaret have garnered him critical acclaim. Nathan’s quick wit and assured timing keep fans coming back year after year. Mr. Nathan is a published author, competitive ballroom dancer and an expert machine gunner. His favorite color is blue. Turn ons: walks on the beach, slow dancing in the moonlight, and birthcontrol. Turn offs: Noisy kids, mean people, parents who take kids on the plane then act all embarrassed and surprised at the result.
John Anaya is a voting member of the Grammy board. He’s also a musician, writer, and producer with twenty years in the cutthroat music business. His latest CD, Music That Makes Kids Cry will be available at the shows. Favorite color: Red. Turn ons: groupies. Turn offs: Musicians, Kids, Moms who smoke.
